The Title
The title, "Sanitas Ratio", is Latin for "healthy systems". (At least that's what Google Translate says.) Public health relies on healthy systems. Policies, programs, institutions, organizations all can impact the wellbeing of individuals and communities.
The Author
Sanitas Ratio reflects' Christine Layton's creative, system-oriented approach to public health program and policy assessment. Her posts reflect two decades' experience in research and evaluation of topics including immunization and vaccines; public health preparedness; public health practice; and maternal and child health.
While working for not-for-profit institutions, she has designed and led projects using qualitative and mixed-methods which were funded by governmental agencies, foundations, and corporations.
She has presented her findings at local, national, and international meetings; interviews with her have been featured in national media including NPR's Marketplace, ABC News and the New York Times.
Dr. Layton received her PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Department of Health Policy and Management, an MPH from Yale University's School of Public Health and a BA from Hampshire College's School of Communication and Cognitive Science.
